K.I.D.S. Earns 4-Star Rating By Charity Navigator

Global Charity Distributed Over Half Billion Dollars of Product to Children

NEW YORK, November 9, 2007 - Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.), a global charity that provides children in need with new clothes, shoes, books, toys, furnishings and baby gear, was awarded the coveted 4- Star rating by Charity Navigator, the primary ranking organization of charities in the United States. A four-star rating is based on the charity's exemplary fiscal efficiency and the advancement of its mission. Less than a quarter of the charities rated by Charity Navigator receive this top rating, indicating that K.I.D.S. outperforms the majority of non-profits in America with respect to fiscal responsibility.

Since 1985, K.I.D.S. has brought smiles, self-esteem and necessities, as well as toys and books, to more than 60 million children in need by distributing over one-half billion dollars worth of new merchandise while keeping overhead costs under 3 percent. Additionally K.I.D.S. has been ranked in the top 200 charities by Forbes Magazine.

K.I.D.S., a global charity of retailers, manufacturers and licensors of children’s and youth products, first requested donations of children’s clothing and products on October 24, when the devastation caused by the fires reached disaster proportions. At the same time, a plea from Fashion Delivers, a charity affiliated with K.I.D.S., was sent to companies in the men’s, women’s and home fashion industries for donations of adult clothes, shoes, socks, blankets, and sheets.

On November 27, 2007, KIDS will celebrate its 22nd birthday at The Pierre hotel in New York City. New York Governor Eliot Spitzer will deliver the keynote address and Sherri Shepherd, co-host of ABC-TV’s “The View,” will host the event
