On April 25, 2008, in celebration of the Month of the Military Child, representatives from Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S) and the Toy Industry Foundation (T.I.F.) traveled to Fort Dix, New Jersey to distribute new toys to children of the families stationed at the military base. .
The distribution occurred at the Pemberton Township Fort Dix Elementary School during an assembly that featured readings and songs by the students followed by an ice cream social for all in attendance. The toys were donated during the 2008 Toy Fair by hundreds of generous toy manufacturers. We distributed the remainder of the toys we collected at the 2008 Toy Fair to 10 other military bases on the East Coast to support Operation Homefront programs on those bases
